RXNT medical billing and RCM support
An outside billing company can work your RXNT account on named logins your practice issues, after a BAA is signed. RXNT sells billing software and says it does not run managed billing, so the work is shared between your office and us.
In short: you keep RXNT and we work the billing queues you hand over, from named users with two-step login. Nucleus Align has no partnership with RXNT.
What is RXNT, and what do its products do?
RXNT is the trade name of Networking Technology, Inc. Its site says the company has built cloud-based medical software since 1999, starting with electronic prescribing, and that the line now covers electronic health records (EHR), practice management with medical billing and scheduling, and a Full Suite that bundles them.
The specialties in its navigation are family medicine, internal medicine, primary care, psychiatry, mental and behavioral health, and physical therapy and rehab. We treat RXNT as an ambulatory system.
| Name on RXNT's site | What RXNT says it is | What it means for billing |
|---|---|---|
| Electronic Health Records | Customizable charting, Smart Forms encounter templates, patient portal and mobile apps | Charges start in the encounter |
| Practice Management | Cloud-based billing and scheduling with built-in claim scrubbing, denial management and customizable reporting | Where claims are built and worked |
| Electronic Prescribing | Prescribing with Surescripts and EPCS certification | Clinical tool, not a billing queue |
| Full Suite | EHR, prescribing and practice management in one platform with single sign-on | One login reaches charting and billing |
| Software for Billing Companies | Practice management and billing tools with central billing office features | The product an outside team uses |
| Ambient IQ | A standalone ambient listening and documentation tool | No claim role |
What reaches a payer depends on how your account is configured.
Does RXNT do the billing, or does a billing company use it?
RXNT sells software, not a billing service. Its page for billing companies says it is not in the business of managed billing services and that it sends referrals to billers who use the software. In an RXNT account the queue split is therefore between your office and us.
The same page lists tools for outside teams: central billing office functionality for multi-site, multi-provider billing at no extra cost, a Charge Uploader for bulk batches of unbilled charges.
What access does an outside billing team need in RXNT?
Named users with billing permissions only, created by your administrator, after a business associate agreement is signed. Nobody on our side shares a login.
Data protection terms are on our security page.
How does a claim get from RXNT to the payer?
RXNT's billing-company page describes an integrated clearinghouse, so a biller does not upload claims, download remittances or open another tool to check claim and payment status. Which clearinghouse and which payers are switched on is an account setting, so we read it before we send anything.
RXNT also says its built-in claim scrubbing detects billing code errors before submission. A claim held by the scrubber has not reached the payer, so holds are the first thing we clear each day.
Federal rules fix the formats. 45 CFR 162.1102 adopts the ASC X12N 837 as the health care claim transaction, and 45 CFR 162.1602 adopts the ASC X12N 835 for health care claim payment and remittance advice. RXNT's practice management page says users receive electronic remittance advice (an ERA), which is the 835 file.
When an ERA arrives we post it against the payment we expected, record contractual adjustments and patient responsibility, and send short pays and denial codes to the work queue.
What do we do inside RXNT?
- Review charges for codes, modifiers, diagnoses and rendering provider before release, including Charge Uploader batches and mobile-captured charges
- Clear scrubber holds and rejections so claims go out within 24 hours of charge entry
- Submit through the clearinghouse connected to your account
- Post each ERA against expected payment and flag short pays
- Work denials from a queue within 48 hours, using RXNT's appeal letter templates where the record supports an appeal
- Follow up open A/R, oldest and largest balances first
- Send patient statements and handle billing questions under rules you set
Which RXNT reports do we pull for denials and A/R?
RXNT says reports can be configured on any field without disturbing other reports, and that central billing office reporting is included. We describe reports by purpose.
- Charge lag: days between the visit and charge entry
- Claim status: unbilled, held for edits, sent, rejected or paid
- A/R aging by payer: where open money sits and how old it is
- Denial trends: payers, reason codes and providers that repeat
- Payment variance: paid amount against the contract or expected amount
Does RXNT produce institutional UB-04 claims or professional claims?
Check the claim form your account produces before you plan facility work. CMS describes the CMS-1500 as the standard claim form used by a non-institutional provider or supplier, designed and maintained by the National Uniform Claim Committee (NUCC). It describes the CMS-1450, also called the UB-04, as the institutional form, with its design owned by the National Uniform Billing Committee (NUBC).
RXNT's pages describe billing for practices and billing companies. For a hospital or freestanding ER client, we confirm in the account which claim type is enabled before any institutional work is scoped. See our hospital and facility billing page.
What billing mistakes do we check for in RXNT?
These are general checks we run in any ambulatory system, not defects of RXNT.
| Check | What we look at | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Rendering provider and dates | Provider and service date on every charge | A mismatch breaks the payer match |
| Modifiers | Each professional line against the code and the payer's policy | A missing or wrong modifier changes payment or triggers a denial |
| Demographics and member ID | Name, date of birth and ID against the card and the eligibility response | RXNT PM lists automated eligibility checks; we still compare the response |
| Scrubber holds | Edit text, who clears it, how long it has waited | Held claims age quietly |
| Remit posting | Contractual adjustments, patient responsibility and denial codes on the 835 | Wrong posting hides underpayments |
| Multi-location accounts | Billing provider and location on each claim | One setup error repeats across sites |

Common questions
Straight answers from the team that does the work.
Ask a billing lead directly. A 20-minute call, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Eastern.
01Can an outside billing company work inside RXNT?
Yes, on logins your practice issues. Each of our staff gets a named user with billing-only permissions after the BAA is signed, and nothing is shared. RXNT's own site says it does not run managed billing services, so the queue split is between your office and us.
02What access does a billing partner need in RXNT?
Named users with role-based access to billing, claims and reports, plus two-step login. Your administrator creates them after the BAA is signed. For multi-location practices, RXNT describes single sign-on for central billing offices, so one user can reach the locations you assign.
03Which RXNT reports matter for denial and A/R tracking?
Charge lag, claim status, A/R aging by payer, denial trends and payment variance. RXNT says reports can be configured on any field, so we build each view from your account's fields. Scope and reporting are agreed at setup, not fixed in advance.
04How do claims move from RXNT to the clearinghouse and payer?
RXNT describes an integrated clearinghouse on its billing-company page, with built-in claim scrubbing before submission. Claims leave as ASC X12N 837 transactions under 45 CFR 162.1102. The clearinghouse and payers enabled depend on your account, so we read that setup first.
05How does RXNT post ERA and 835 remittances?
RXNT's practice management page says users receive electronic remittance advice. The 835 is the format named in 45 CFR 162.1602. We post each ERA against expected payment, record adjustments and patient responsibility, and move short pays and denial codes to the work queue.
06What billing mistakes are common in RXNT (charge capture, modifiers, demographics)?
We do not attribute defects to RXNT. The general mistakes are a wrong rendering provider, missing modifiers, demographics that differ from the insurance card, and bulk-loaded charges with a bad mapping. We check these on every account before charges become claims.
07Is RXNT data safe with an offsite billing team under a BAA?
We sign a BAA with every client, train all staff on HIPAA, bind them with NDAs, and use two-step login on every system. Backups are encrypted and automatic, and a compliance officer oversees it. Access is by named user only. Details are on our security page.
08Does RXNT handle institutional UB-04 claims or only professional claims?
RXNT's pages describe billing for practices and billing companies. CMS says the CMS-1500 is the non-institutional form and the CMS-1450 (UB-04) is the institutional form. For a facility client we confirm which claim type the account produces before scoping institutional work.
09How do we track out-of-network claims and appeals in RXNT?
We flag out-of-network claims by payer and claim, then track appeal letters and deadlines in a log we keep beside the account. RXNT offers appeal letter templates for denials. Disputes under the No Surprises Act follow the out-of-network billing and IDR process.
10How long does it take to move billing to a new vendor while staying on RXNT?
You keep RXNT, so no data migration is needed. What changes is who works the queues. We agree the queue list, payers and reporting at setup, then start on the charges you hand over. We do not promise a fixed timeline before we see the account.
11What does outsourcing billing cost for an RXNT practice or facility?
Our fee does not depend on which EHR you use, and current terms are on our pricing page. RXNT bills its own software subscription separately, and that stays with your practice under your agreement with RXNT, not with us. We do not resell it.
12Is there a billing company that works in RXNT?
Yes. Nucleus Align works inside RXNT with named, role-limited accounts you grant. We review charges, send claims within 24 hours of charge entry, post remittances and work denials within 48 hours, under a signed BAA. Scope is agreed at setup. Scope and reporting are agreed with you at setup.
